There has been a lot of fuss about Seven Lions as of late. He is likely one of the few artists worthy of such attention. His now month-old EP, Polarize, hit the web like a bit out of hell. After a quick break, he is back at it again with an incredible remix of Above & Beyond‘s “On My Way To Heaven“. A really lovely mellow bit, the melodies intertwine superbly well and bring further life to the vocals.
Keeping much of the emotive introduction of the original intact, Seven Lions leaves us with a magnificent ambient-esque build up. When it hits, it does so to provide enough force to seemingly give you an anxiety attack; creating near, on the edge of your seat, anticipation with the melodically uplifting drop. Couple a few layers of snyth, and you have got some really mesmerizing work.
Put simply, in its truest sense, the piece is nothing but awesome. The last the time Seven Lions reworked Above & Beyond, the tune blew up with global presence. Now they are back with the same formula. A summer anthem without a shadow of a doubt.
