AtsuBox – In Barnes

AtsuBox is a collaborative effort between Adam (Atsuko) and James (Stompbox), both of whom produce experimental and and ambient music. This track, “In Barnes” was actually put together out of sound samples the duo recorded at Barnes Hospital in Cheadle. The two have been working with one another for several months now and have been steadily releasing some incredible work the entire time. This track is phenomenal, and you can expect more great stuff from these guys in the near future. They are working on multiple collaborations right now. Check below for further details.  This tune is rainy day music, and will likely be featured on our upcoming playlist alongside similar vibes. Enjoy the atmosphere of this track and make sure to leave a big thanks on any of their social media pages, links are below.

A few weeks ago we also featured Ghostek’s “Trust Me” (one of my absolute favorites). Well it just so happens that Stompbox also has an edit of that terrific track. Take a listen.

(track since removed.)

Stompbox is the latest producer to hit the increasingly popular ambient, garage scene.

A producer for 2 years, his initial work focused on Drum & Bass but his scope and direction changed after listening to the album “Untrue” by Burial. His main cited influences include Ghostek, Skream, Burial and Clubroot.
“James Rice aka Stompbox is a man of great detail. He writes compositions filled with sincerity and sentimental textures, ones that gives you a feeling of warmness and infinity. With his Burial-esque influences and a strong sense for Post-Dubstep culture, he manages so brightfully to build a world of wonder behind fogness and sadness. Stompbox is about hope and sincerity, or so it very feels. It would be so regretful to neglect such a prince of giving. It’s one of the rarest, really talented, great, divine, defined by Grandeur acts I’ve heard in this very sick and extremely futuristic genre of Music. He’s some kind of Burial genuine original pioneer on its own. He does it right, he does it openly. Stompbox is that miraculous act of kindness in a world of continuous ignorance. Life is an oyster when you play his outstanding ‘Flu’ single. James is an evolving pulsar, out of a Solar System, and now he’s ready to spread his sparks officially. Some people’s talents are just too huge to ignore. It’s that kind of sweet case with Stompbox.

Here is what Atsuko, reluctantly (so it seems) had to say about himself

i am not going to tell you about myself like a biography thing, i am not good enough to brag and tell my story, i have links of where you can find out about how i make my music, why i do it, what it meens to me.
