Blackmill – Friend

Blackmill is known for his melodic dubstep style. Sticking with this sound, once again he comes through with another wonderful, uplifting piece. He intends for his music to invokes emotions, with the power to alter your present state of mind.

He starts with a concept and then builds. Most of the time, his music comes with a message. Be it love, responsibility, or as we see, friendship. That’s the beautiful side of his work, for he intends it to have the power to convey a thousand thoughts, just based on that original thought. It is admirable idea, and why his entire body of work is pure art. Easily can you find yourself lost in his music, for it has the power to briefly send you onto a whole other world. “Friend” reminds everyone just how important friendship truly is; among the most incredible bonds life has to offer, stronger than most others will ever encounter.

“Friend” starts off with a smooth piano that builds, soon adding in the kicks. A melodic, dubstep bassline shortly follows, and begins driving the track. A chilled, whistling piano is brought into the mix in, working in combination and acting as the lead, driving the melody home.
