Flosstradamus – Underground Anthem

Flosstradamus has been creating quite the name for themselves lately as the Chicago DJ-duo have hopped onto the trap music bandwagon proceeding to release banger after banger. Even though they have been around since 2006, the duo’s career have only recently begun to skyrocket after a string of EPs were released through established labels Mad Decent and Fool’s Gold in 2011-2012.  In their latest original track, aptly titled “Underground Anthem”, they demonstrate how they are a force to be reckoned with in the world of ‘underground’ hip-hop/ EDM.

L to R: Curt Cameruci, Josh Young

After starting off with short hi-pitched stabs which eventually evolve into a heavily chopped and glitched vocal sample as the first drop hits, it is easy to see that this is a trap track infused with hardstyle. Complete with a super low-frequency bass that hits hard, rapid hi-hats, snare rolls, and repetitive sinister sounding synths this track makes you simultaneously feel like a gangster and raver rolled into one package. And even if it doesn’t make you feel that way, this eargasm of a tune is sure to make you involuntarily jump around.
