We almost missed the party. Released just yesterday was the latest release from a favorite of ours, Holy Other. Some of you might remember his critically-acclaimed, five-track EP, With U released just last year. The anonymous producer is now back with an announcement for his full-length debut album titled Held. “While it was never explicitly stated at the time of release, Holy Other opting to remain vague about the meaning behind the record, With U essentially chronicled the painful break down of a relationship. In comparison Held is about being confined to a relationship and the depth of emotions felt throughout its course.” [TA Press Release]
With the annoucment, he shares the first of nine tracks off the album. Every moment of this song is full on with unadulterated atmosphere; a wall of sound. Another piece demonstrating the reason Holy One is truly in a league of his own. It holds a beautiful depth of emotional weight from start to finish. Look forward to Held out August 28, 2012.
